From Sunrise to Gallery: How We Craft Your Perfect Family Portrait
A portrait session might last an hour, but the work that surrounds it takes days. Here is an honest behind-the-scenes look at how we create a gallery you will treasure for the rest of your life.
The Consultation
Everything starts with a conversation. Before we discuss dates, I want to understand your family, your children’s ages and personalities, and what kind of portraits you want on your walls.
Location Scouting
I visit every location before a session to study the light at different times of day. Knowing exactly where to position a family makes the difference between a good portrait and a great one.
The Day of the Session
I arrive before you to check the light. When you arrive, the first ten minutes are deliberately relaxed. I begin shooting while everyone is still settling in, because those first candid moments are often the most beautiful.
The Edit
After the session I spend several days working through every frame. I cull thousands of images down to the strongest selects, then colour-grade each one individually with care and intention.
Gallery Delivery
Your finished gallery arrives in an online portal within two to three weeks. You can view, share, and download in high resolution, and order prints directly through the portal.
